DECEMBER 2007 Nationally Recognised Training in Gas Detection. We have been working for some time with Dr Chris Simpson, one of Australia's (and indeed the world's) foremost experts in the field of gas detection, to develop training courses delivering the units of competency on the subject contained in the forthcoming new edition of AS/NZS 4761 and are proud to announce the roll out of our gas detection course. See the calendar for details of upcoming courses. Dr Simpson has 30 plus years of consulting in the field, as well designing gas detection instruments and has worked throughout that period to educate users of the limitations of the instruments and the potential pitfalls in their use. The majority of handheld gas detection instruments, he believes, are currently being used in a potentially dangerous manner, by people who are simply unaware of their limitations.
