Installation and Maintenance and Detail Inspection Training (EEHA I&M)
Our comprehensive EEHA Training offer participants the opportunity to obtain nationally recognised competencies that also meet the requirements of Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4761.
This 5 day Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas course is derived from the latest UEE11 Electrotechnology Training package.
This nationally recognised course is intended for electrical workers, technicians and engineers involved with installing and maintaining electrical equipment in hazardous areas. It covers the principles of hazardous area classification, explosion-protection techniques, equipment installation requirements, inspections, and procedures for breakdowns and maintenance, with theory and practical components.
Our courses are delivered by qualified, experienced trainers who are all currently practicing as engineers and designers in the electrical and instrumentation industries, and have experience across multiple disciplines. Competency Training offer the flexibility of either delivering the courses on site, using the client’s own equipment and tailored training material. Alternatively, we can host at one of our dedicated training centres in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Gladstone, Melbourne or Sydney.
Competency Training’s facility’s offer hazardous area inspection boards developed in conjunction with NHP. They cover the four most common explosion protection techniques used in industry, Intrinsically Safe (Ex i), Flameproof (Ex d) and Increased Safety (Ex e) for flammable gas environments and Protection by Enclosure (Ex tD) for flammable dust environments. Students are required to carry out a detailed hazardous area inspection on all pieces of equipment on each board looking for various faults.
The inspections focus on the specific installation requirements of each technique and each hazardous area zone. The faults on the boards cover issues such as terminations, ingress protection, damage to equipment, cable glanding, gland selection, cable requirements, labelling, certification, special conditions of use and equipment suitability to name a few.
A refresher course is also available and is recommended to be completed every two years for electrical workers and engineers who have completed the below competencies delivered by our five day course.
This course forms part of the Certificate IV – Hazardous Areas Electrical and Competency Training are able to offer participant the full Certificate IV via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where a kit is completed in your own time and with the assistance of our knowledgeable trainers and assessors.
